Landfill and Ground Gas Monitoring

CMT can provide services for the monitoring of ground gas and landfill gas. With 30 years experience of managing contaminated land projects CMT can offer ground gas, landfill monitoring and risk assessment services.

Contaminated land issues resulting from the PPS23 planning conditions often include a provision for the monitoring of ground gas should there be adequate reason to be suspect their presence. Monitoring of ground gas is carried out using the MCERTS accredited GA2000+ gas analyser and the risk assessment (for contaminated land) is carried out in accordance with the current CIRIA guidance.
Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulphide and Oxygen content are all measured alongside flow rate to determine the concentration and rate of influx of potentially toxic/asphyxiating gases.
